Spjald School in Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality consists of six buildings with a total area of over 8,000 m², ranging from 1937 to 2014.
By 2024, the school’s outdated fluorescent lighting no longer met modern standards for energy efficiency or lighting quality in learning environments.
The municipality aimed to future-proof the lighting as part of a broader energy renovation, requiring DALI control, improved visual comfort, and compliance with EN12464.
The solution also needed to support climate goals while creating better conditions for students and staff.
The new lighting system delivers energy savings, comfort and flexibility. The school now saves more than 20,000 kWh annually, and thanks to the long lifetime and low maintenance of LED technology, operating costs will be significantly reduced. Lighting is more uniform and easier to control, with DALI grouping allowing quick adjustments and classrooms equipped with DALI sensors for automated control. All installations comply with EN12464, ensuring optimal lighting conditions for learning environments.

Spjald School now saves more than 20,000 kWh every year, and thanks to the long lifetime and low maintenance of LED technology, the impact on the operating budget will be substantial. Lighting throughout the school is uniform, comfortable and easy to control. With DALI grouping, light levels can be adjusted quickly and flexibly, while classrooms benefit from automated control through integrated DALI sensors. All installations comply with EN12464, ensuring that the lighting meets the latest standards for learning environments.

The installation has significantly improved lighting conditions throughout the school and reduced annual energy consumption by more than 20,000 kWh. This project is the result of close cooperation between LEDVANCE, Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality and installer Jens Byskov A/S, delivering a future-proof solution that benefits both the municipality and the users.
