Tell City, Indiana upgraded its four-field youth baseball complex to create a modern, inclusive, tournament-ready facility. The goal was better visibility and playability, less light spill into nearby neighborhoods, and a solution that fit a responsible municipal budget. LEDVANCE partnered with regional distributor CED Owensboro and contractor Terry Electrical to deliver the full-field upgrade efficiently during the winter off-season.

Project info:
Tell City needed a lighting upgrade that improved field performance and accessibility without driving up cost. The complex also required a design that kept light where it belongs - on the playing surface - while limiting spill toward neighboring homes. On top of that, the project had to move quickly once funding was secured and be executed during the off-season window.
LEDVANCE collaborated closely with CED Owensboro and Terry Electrical to deliver a complete lighting plan tailored to the needs of all four fields. The solution combined:
The upgraded complex now features high-performance, energy-efficient LED sports lighting with a focused distribution that supports strong visibility for players and spectators while keeping surrounding areas more comfortable. The streamlined installation approach reduced labor and avoided costly callbacks, and the improved facility has helped Tell City host tournaments - including weekends drawing over 1,200 visitors that supported local hotels, restaurants, and retail.
The LEDVANCE layout and laser aiming tools made the process easy. The contractor didn’t need to come back for adjustments, the first setup worked perfectly.
