SYLVANIA screw based dimmable LED bulbs are compatible with most commercially available wall-box or wall-mount type dimmer models.
Namely, Lutron C-L dimmer models, as well as Leviton IllumaTech, Decora and SureSlide dimmer series, and Legrand Radiant models. These dimmer models constitute the vast majority of dimming applications. For commercial dimmable systems and controls, we recommend sending bulb samples for testing to the dimmer manufacturer, when applicable.
SYLVANIA dimmable bulbs are tested for compatibility with these dimmer models in order to ensure optimal performance. The maximum number of bulbs that a given dimmer model can operate is determined by checking the dimmer rated power and dividing that value by the bulb rated power. For example, a dimmer rated at 150W could operate up to 15 bulbs rated at 10W.
Regarding MR16 LED bulb type (using two pin GU5.3 base), most electronic low-voltage dimmer (aka reverse phase) models from the dimmer manufacturers mentioned above are compatible, in conjunction with electronic low-voltage (12V) transformers. For applications using a magnetic low-voltage transformer, it is recommended to use a magnetic lowvoltage dimmer. When a MR16 LED bulb operates with a transformer connected to a dimmer, it is recommended to verify the overall performance first with a sample before completing the installation.
